The access of real-time data, and the use of big data analysis, mathematical modelling have been largely complicated by the lack of modern technology. Since the 90s, with the shift of business communication and chartering onto email, the shipping market has been nothing else but missions of emails and messages sent across the industry containing Freight requests, cargo data, open ship positions, shipping data and freight. With the wide introduction of Natural Language processing and Machine learning, in mid 2010s, using nightly paid and skilled shipping managers and brokers to manually process emails and conduct search for shipping data because inefﬁcient. In some companies, who employ dozens of brokers over international ofﬁces, the process of emails and messages costs up to 85% of the valuable work-time, and leads to huge losses. Shipping needed a platform to help process emails and messages, and to facilitate chartering, freight search and data-management. SHIPNEXT patented the process of combining email and data processing with the concept of using a shipping platform for instant cargo-to-ship and ship-to-cargo matching, dynamic freight search, data analytics, chartering and trading, digitalization of work-ﬂows.
